Welcome to the Old Glen House at Shipley Glen

Here at the Old Glen House (OGH),we pride ourselves on trying to make your visit here a true excellent quality dining experience. We aim to accomplish this by serving excellent quality food cooked with predominately local ingredients with flair, passion & imagination. David Carr, The Landlord (formerly trained at The House of Lords, The Angel at Hetton and Slaley Hall (to name a few) is most at home when he is hands on in the kitchen putting his “nearly 20 years” experience in 2 rosette establishments into practice., but you will also see him behind the bar, or in his scruffs doing day to day maintenance. We also aim to offer fantastic service from the moment you walk through the door to the moment you ask for and put on your coat to leave. The old glen house is both warm and cosey (now we have had our central heating system overhauled and updated) and with the background music, candles lit throughout the day & nightand the log burning stove crackling away in the background.
We have a wonderful beer garden around the back of the pub along with Tallulah our BBQ built into the engine compartment of a converted London black cab, she even comes complete with “Dave the driver”
We are situated at the end of Shipley Glen, so a walk before or after Lunch / dinner to either build up an appetite or walk it off.

Monday – Friday: 12.00pm – 2.00pm and 5.00pm – 9.00pm
Saturday: 12.00pm – 3.00pm and 5.00pm – 9.00pm
Sunday: 12.00pm – 5.00pm
