Here at the Old Glen House we are trying to become a food led business by serving excellent quality food and service with flair and consistency.
I have been a chef for just short of 20 years now, my training started out with 3 years full time at Darlington College of Technology and then after several years in full time employment I went back to University whilst working at The House of Lords. My experience ranges from hotels, pubs and restaurants and also outside catering / private dining. My experience ranges from The House of Lords, The George of Stamford, Royal crescent & Bath Priory in Bath, The Angel at Hetton and Slaley Hall but to name a few. I have also over the last few years worked in Italy, Austria & Switzerland. We serve an excellent range of beers, lagers & wines. We currently have 3 cask conditioned ales, Timothy Taylors “Landlord”, “Tetley Cask” which are on permanently and then our guest ale which changes
As for our food, we offer Set Lunch Menu / Thyme Out menu, Daily Special & Sandwiches and a set price Table d’ Hote menu(available individually priced if required) The menu’s change on a weekly or fortnightly basis or when the suppliers come up with something new for me.
Sandwiches are priced at £5.95 but are substantial enough and well worth the price. The Set Lunch / Thyme Out menu is £14.95 for 3 courses. Table d’Hote menu is £22.50 for 2 courses and the Daily Specials are all priced individually.
