Stephen and Claire took over ownership of the Old Glen House on 1 April 2011 and have had a busy time since.
Stephen will be working in the kitchen as head chef and Claire will be front of house to ensure you have a warm welcome.
Stephen has worked in a number of successful restaurants in North Yorkshire, mostly around the Wetherby and York area, including Singers in Tadcaster and The Spice Box in Boston Spa. Stephen and Claire have worked together for a number of years at both the Bay Horse in Kirk Deighton and The Crown at Roecliffe so they both have the skills to make your visit a pleasant one.
Old Glen House will shortly be undergoing an extensive refurbishment, which will see the restaurant and side bar once more become an exciting place to enjoy a wonderful meal. The refurbishment will include a child friendly play area and an outside seating area that will also be safe for children.
Stephen is hoping to source many of his ingredients locally and has already started, with the help of his gardener, Terry, to set up a herb garden to use in his recipes. All the meals will be hand made in the kitchen, nothing is frozen, except the ice cream – which is also hand made!
Old Glen House specialises in private dining and buffets for Birthdays, Weddings, Corporate Entertaining, Christenings etc., with each menu or buffet individually designed to your requirements and customised to your budget.

Your food had been recommended by some friends so last week my husband and I tried the Old Glen House for the first time. We were delighted by the warm welcome that we received from Stephen and Claire. The homemade Rosemary bread was delicious and the Fish and Chips were to die for. Nothing was too much trouble, the food was piping hot and the presentation of the food was first class. Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable evening. We hope this hidden gem isn’t hidden for too long as the new owners deserve to succeed. We are very much looking forward to returning in the very near future to your newly refurbished restaurant.
We had travelled to Baildon for the day from Durham on the 14th August to visit friends who took us to Old Glen House for lunch. We can only echo and endorse what Jean Valentine has written. Friendly welcome, attentive service and beautifully presented, delicious food at a very reasonable price. Wish we lived nearer!
This place deserves to thrive! Every good wish on your way.
